The Cottage
Conveniently located in Downalong a short walk from just about everything, Southern Comfort is an inviting, authentic period cottage furnished with your comfort in mind, preserving many original features of the cottage and retaining a wonderful, cosy atmosphere.

Available within the cottage are a selection of toys for young children, a selection of books and games which you are welcome to use.

There is free WiFi via Starlink satellite, Available within the cottage there is a smart TV with access to various streaming services in both the living room and the master bedroom

The bathroom has a new rainfall shower, contemporary washstand sink and toilet.

We have made every effort to make the cottage comfortable and to provide what you need for comfortable stay. Furnished in a Soho Boho style with restored vintage and antique furniture along side modern conveniences. Please do check the images as it is furnished to our style without altering many of the the original wall and floor finishes.

Living Room
From the courtyard you enter into the living room, a light and sunny room with beamed ceiling, wooden floorboards, original fireplace with log burning stove and a lovely sunny window seat with original shutters. There is a three seater sofa and two armchairs, a selection of artwork and flat screen smart TV. During the day natural light floods in and for the evenings the shutters and ambient lighting make it a cosy room to snuggle up in.
Master Bedroom
The front facing, light and airy master bedroom with smart TV is beautifully furnished with an elegant mahogany sleigh king size bed, we use Egyptian cotton linen and have a warm all seasons duvet. There is a wardrobe, chest of drawers, chair and standard lamp and bedside cabinet. The window overlooks the courtyard to the front of the property.
Twin Bedroom
Bedroom two is a very pretty, quiet room with two full sizedx 3ft American oak beds each with bedspreads and lambswool throw, wardrobe, and painted antique dressing table/chest of drawers and wardrobe. The sky light lets in plenty of light but is fitted with a blackout blind to prevent early waking in the summer, the other window looks out to the rear of the property.
Kitchen
Two steps up to a fitted kitchen/diner with terracotta tiled floor, beamed ceiling, sink, gas cooker with double oven, dishwasher, washer/drier, fridge freezer, microwave, window and old-style larder. Stable door leads to an outside area for hanging washing and wetsuits, gate leading to Fish street.
